Recently, Hebei Provincial Department of Education decided to award Hebei International Studies University as the first batch of provincial labor education pilot schools in Hebei Province after comprehensive evaluation.
At the 2018 National Education Conference, General Secretary Xi Jinping called for labor education to be included in the overall requirements for training socialist builders and successors, and clearly proposed the construction of an education system that comprehensively trains moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor.
In March 2020, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council issued the Opinions on Comprehensively Strengthening Labor Education in Colleges, Primary and Secondary Schools in the New Era. In July 2020, the Ministry of Education issued the Guidelines for Labor Education in Colleges, Primary and Secondary Schools (Trial), which required: "College students in ordinary institutions of higher learning should consolidate good habits of daily life and work, conscientiously clean the dormitory, independently handle personal life affairs, actively participate in work-study activities, improve the ability of self-reliance and self-improvement through work; Strengthen service labor, consciously participate in the classroom, canteen, campus sanitation, landscaping and management services. Institutions of higher learning can also arrange labor months to concentrate on implementing the requirements of labor weeks in each academic year."
In the "meeting of party building and ideological and political work in colleges and universities of Hebei province", secretary Wang Dongfeng also vigorously advocated "labor education" and proposed to arrange appropriate on-campus and off-campus labor for college students.
Hebei International Studies University(HISU) puts forward that "education is to train students to be a man, and teaching is to train students to do things". In terms of labor education, our school is exploring a feasible new model of labor education and earnestly implementing the national labor education policy.
We will bring labor education into the talent training program, and arrange one to two weeks of labor education practice classes every semester, according to the national requirements to reach no less than 32 hours, and clearly set up the labor education evaluation system. The labor education should be integrated with moral education, intellectual education, physical education and aesthetic education in the whole process of personnel training. Make the education of "morality, intelligence, body, beauty, labor" bigger and stronger, and establish the governance system of the five major education.
In future, foreign languages institute in Hebei will continue to strengthen professional support, condition guarantee, the labor practice education system design, improve the work promoting mechanism, perfecting the course system and evaluation system, the rich practice carrier. And play a leading role, can learn, can draw lessons from for the province, the typical experience and practice, which can be promoted to in-depth development of labor education in colleges and universities in our province.
