At 6 p.m. on December 9, 2020, the People's Government of Hebei Province held a grand ceremony of "Yanzhao Friendship Award" in the Guochang Hall of China Hotel. The People's Government of Hebei Province has decided to award the yanzhao Friendship Award in 2020 to 20 foreign experts who have made outstanding contributions to the economic and social development of Hebei Province, including 4 foreign academicians. Academician Perez, vice president of Hebei Foreign Studies University, was awarded the "Yanzhao Friendship Award", the only foreign expert from a private university in The province to win the "Yanzhao Friendship Award" in 2020. Before the award ceremony, Governor Xu Qin warmly shook hands with Academician Perez, vice president of Hebei International Studies University.
The Yanzhao Friendship Award is the highest honor granted to foreign experts by the Hebei provincial government. Since 2002, Hebei Province has established the honorary title of "Yanzhao Friendship Award", which is awarded once a year. The winners of the Yanzhao Friendship Award are outstanding representatives of foreign expert groups and individuals working in Hebei Province. In their respective fields of expertise, they have made important contributions to the reform, opening up and modernization of our province, built a bridge to enhance the mutual understanding and friendship between Hebei and people around the world, brought hebei advanced science and technology and management experience from all over the world, and filled the gaps at home and abroad with a number of technological achievements.
In his warm acceptance speech at the yanzhao Friendship Award ceremony, Mr. Perez, academician of Hebei International Studies University, said: 'I am an expert in the fields of China-Latin America relations, history studies, cultural anthropology studies, and foreign Spanish education and teaching research. He is currently the vice president of Hebei Foreign Languages University of China, the executive president of Hebei Global Academy of International Economy, Culture and Society, the life-long Honorary Member of the Cuban Academy of Sciences and the Academician of the Cuban Academy of History. Before coming to Hebei, he was an advisor to the International Scientific Commission of UNESCO and a member of the New York Academy of Sciences.
I would like to thank the People's Government of Hebei Province, The Science and Technology Department of Hebei Province, and the Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs of Hebei Province for their recognition of me. It is my great honor to receive the yanzhao Friendship Award today. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Cuba. This honor is not only awarded to me personally, but also belongs to Hebei University of Foreign Languages. It is also an honor for China and Cuba, and it is a symbol of the friendship between China and Cuba that is as strong as brothers.
