On
December 6th, 2019, Hebei Foreign Studies University (HFSU) held the
opening ceremony of Shijiazhuang Foreign Experts Book House and Shijiazhuang Foreign
Expert's Friendship Performance, which was hosted by Shijiazhuang Science and
Technology Bureau. About 150 foreign experts attended the event, and the leaders
who attended the event included Ke Xu, Deputy Director of Shijiazhuang Science
and Technology Bureau, He Zifa, Director of Foreign Experts Department of
Shijiazhuang Science and Technology Bureau, Tian Junyuan, Deputy Director of Foreign
Experts Department of Shijiazhuang Science and Technology Bureau, and Li Tihua,
Director of Qiaoxi District Science and Technology Bureau.

A symposium was held before the ceremony, Academician
Perez, the Cuban Academy of Sciences who was selected into the "Hundred Foreign
Experts Program" of Hebei Province, Academician Ramagoshi, the South African
Academy of Sciences and Arts who won the "Yanzhao Friendship Award" of Hebei
provincial government, Kim Kyungsik, professor of South Korea's Kyungnam
University, Tara Ashlyn Joensuu, Co-founder and General Manager of Chalara Ltd.,
and more than 40 foreign experts introduced the situation and gave feedback about
working and living in Shijiazhuang. They also put forward some suggestions on
the policy of introducing foreign talents and the economic and social
development of Shijiazhuang. Ke Xu, Deputy Director of Shijiazhuang Science and
Technology Bureau, at the end of symposium, summarized and pointed out that
experts have made important contributions to the development of Shijiazhuang's
economic construction, and were appreciated for their feedbacks and
suggestions. The development of Shijiazhuang needs the support and help of
experts and talents. Hebei province welcomes them all to work and live in
Shijiazhuang.

After the symposium, the provincial and city leadership visited the Book House together with all foreign experts. Deputy Director Ke Xu and Rector Sun Jianzhong of HIFU jointly unveiled the Foreign Expert's Book House. The book house in HFSU is the first foreign expert's book house established in Hebei province. It is a new measure for Science and Technology Bureau to serve foreign experts and create a good atmosphere for high talents working in Shijiazhuang. The book house relies on foreign book resources of HFSU. Some Chinese embassies and consulates abroad, and foreign embassies in China donated books to the book house, which introduce China's politics, economy, culture, diplomacy and other fields. The book house is open to all foreign experts in Shijiazhuang, and provides a free borrowing service. After its establishment, the book house will also serve as a shared space for foreigners' activities in Shijiazhuang, hold colorful international cultural exchange activities, enhance the city's image of opening up to the outside world, and spread a comprehensive Shijiazhuang culture to the world.

Subsequently, the leaders of the Provincial and Shijiazhuang Science and Technology Bureaus and foreign experts held an unveiling ceremony and a friendship performance with foreign experts in the student activity center of HFSU. Deputy Director Ke Xu and Rector Sun Jianzhong of HFSU jointly unveiled the Foreign Expert's Book House.

"It is necessary to build the book house as a bridge and link to spread Chinese culture, enhance international exchanges, and provide rich resources and services for foreign experts in Shijiazhuang." said Deputy Director Ke Xu.

At last, the leaders of Shijiazhuang Science and Technology Bureau and foreign experts watched the performance prepared by teachers and students of HFSU.
